Software for iPhone

Apple representatives say that iPhone is a closed environment, meaning that you cannot install your own software to it. Still, they say that developers interested developing for iPhone should contact Apple. Therefore, I'm still going to update this page.

I'll be collecting here a list of software available on iPhone as soon as the information keeps pouring in. This page will hopefully be a good and solid collection of iPhone software

At the moment there are only very few details and other information available, all available on Apple.com/iphone. There is also a wikipedia page.

Software

These applications are bundled with the phone:

Music player: Much like in iPod
Video player: Much like in iPod
Calendar: No additional info yet
Calculator: No additional info yet
Safari (web browsing): Better that the one in Series 60 3rd devices. Supports multiple pages, JavaScript, etc.
Mail: Supports inline rich HTML, Yahoo! push mail, etc
Google Maps: Full functionality with the phone. For example: find a local Starbucks on the map, get the contact information, make a call.
Widgets: No additional info yet.

I've been maintaining a hand picked list of free software for my Series 60 mobile phone for few years now. It has been very helpful for me to have all the nice software listed in one place. I'm definitely going to buy an iPhone as soon as I can get my hands on one, so why not start collecing a list for it, too.
